MESSAGING ON YOUR TERMS
SMS Terms
Effective September 20, 2026 · Version 2026-09-20-v1
Program status: Text messaging is not yet activated through this website. The contact form records voluntary text preferences for the program described below. It does not send a text. Messaging will begin only after the applicable provider registration and required messaging controls are in place.
Program and sender
Southwest Surplus Recovery offers optional SMS/MMS communications. Messages identify Southwest Surplus Recovery as the sender. This program concerns our surplus-recovery services; it is not a government notification program and does not guarantee that funds exist or that you are entitled to a recovery.
Separate choices for separate purposes
Service-related messages: Responses about your inquiry, appointment scheduling and reminders, and updates on services you request.
Marketing messages: Information and offers about Southwest Surplus Recovery’s surplus-recovery services, including messages sent using automated technology.
On the contact form, you can choose either category, both, or neither. Each checkbox starts unchecked. Enter a mobile number you own or are authorized to use, select the category you want, review the disclosure, and submit the form to electronically provide that consent. Providing a number without selecting an SMS option does not enroll you.
Voluntary consent
SMS consent is not a condition of purchasing or receiving services. You can submit an inquiry without consenting to texts. A purchased list, public record, or skip-traced number does not create consent. Permission for one category does not authorize the other. We retain the wording and date of your submission as evidence of your choices.
Frequency and charges
Message frequency varies based on the options selected, your inquiry, and requested services. Message and data rates may apply according to your carrier plan. Contact your carrier if you have questions about those charges.
Opt out or ask for help
Once the program is activated, reply STOP to a message to stop SMS/MMS from the program. You may receive a final confirmation of the opt-out; no further program messages will be sent unless you subsequently provide valid new consent. Reply HELP for assistance, or email Mmoehlmann@southwestsurplusrecovery.com or call (505) 302-0438.
You can also withdraw a pending SMS request before activation by contacting us at that email or phone number. Tell us if you change or relinquish your number. A new website submission does not automatically remove an existing opt-out record.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains information handling. Mobile opt-in information and SMS consent are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Necessary messaging service providers and carriers may process information to deliver the program.
Availability and limitations
This program is intended for adults using supported US mobile numbers. Delivery depends on carrier and network availability and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Text messaging is not appropriate for emergencies, sensitive documents, or time-critical legal instructions. Consult the relevant public office or a qualified attorney regarding legal deadlines.
Updates and service agreements
We may update these terms by revising this page. Changes do not expand the scope of previously provided SMS consent. These terms govern the optional messaging program, not a surplus-recovery client agreement. Any paid services require a separate agreement explaining scope and fees.
